Hockey Equipment Checklist
All players must have the following equipment in order to play hockey:
- Helmet and facemask - CSA approved (mandatory)
- Mouthguard (optional)
- Throat protector - BNQ approved (mandatory)
- Shoulder pads
- Elbow pads
- Hockey jersey - practice (league team jerseys must not be worn for practices)
- Jill (with garter belt or shorts/pants with velcro
- Hockey pants
- Shin guards
- Hockey socks (Typhoons socks can be purchased through the association at the beginning of every season)
- Gloves
- Skates
- Hockey bag (with wheels for younger children)
- Tape (for stick and socks)
All equipment should fit well (ill fitting equipment will hinder a player's ability). Ensure skates are fitted by a professional. You can save substantially by purchasing used protective equipment (see Play it Again Sports in Cornwall or Facebook Marketplace). All equipment should be air dried after every use.
