Hockey Equipment Checklist

All players must have the following equipment in order to play hockey:

  • Helmet and facemask - CSA approved (mandatory)
  • Mouthguard (optional)
  • Throat protector - BNQ approved (mandatory)
  • Shoulder pads
  • Elbow pads
  • Hockey jersey - practice (league team jerseys must not be worn for practices)
  • Jill (with garter belt or shorts/pants with velcro
  • Hockey pants
  • Shin guards
  • Hockey socks (Typhoons socks can be purchased through the association at the beginning of every season)
  • Gloves
  • Skates
  • Hockey bag (with wheels for younger children)
  • Tape (for stick and socks)

All equipment should fit well (ill fitting equipment will hinder a player's ability). Ensure skates are fitted by a professional. You can save substantially by purchasing used protective equipment (see Play it Again Sports in Cornwall or Facebook Marketplace).
