Tryouts
Competitive tryouts will be held from April 15 to May 10, 2026. See the full schedule for details.
The CGHA intends to register competitive teams at the following levels:
Tier 1: U9, U11, U13, U15, U18
Tier 2: U9, U11, U13, U15, U18
Players interested in trying out will be required to:
- Register on RAMP for the appropriate tryout package (note that tryout packages for the 2026/2027 season will be available under the 2025/2026 tab)
- Pay tryout fee in full prior to the first ice time (e-transfer can be sent to cornwallghatreasurer@gmail.com)
- one time cost of $175 for Tier 1 (note that you do not need to re-register or pay for tier 2 if you are not chosen for a tier 1 team)
- $125 for Tier 2
- Tryout fee includes two jerseys (one dark, one light). Players must bring both jerseys to each tryout session. Jerseys are kept by the player and must be repurchased if lost.
- Arrive at least 45 minutes prior to the first tryout for sign in and jersey distribution
- If from outside of CGHA but within the province of Ontario, provide a completed Permission to Tryout form signed by a designated executive member of the player’s current association/team OR request a release from their current association
- a release or Permission to Tryout is not required for players transferring from a minor male/coed hockey organization
- a release or Permission to Tryout is not required for players registering with OWHA for the first time
- If from outside of the province, request a release and transfer from their current association
- If from outside of Canada, complete a USA Hockey/Hockey Canada Try-out Notice and electronically submit it to cgharegistrar@gmail.com (this must be done at least 1 week prior to first tryout date, given it must be approved by OWHA before player can attend)
Goalies are requested to also pre-register by sending an email to the VP of Competitive indicating player name and level of play (i.e. U9, U11, U13, U15, U18).
