The U7 program is designed to provide young girls, typically aged 6 and under, with an introduction to the sport of hockey. This program focuses on skill development, fun, and creating a positive and inclusive environment for players to learn the game. It aims to develop young female athletes in a non-competitive, player-centered environment. It serves as an entry point into hockey for girls of all skill levels, aiming to introduce them to the fundamentals of the game in an enjoyable and supportive atmosphere.
Program highlights:
The CGHA is pleased to offer 3 sessions of development clinics throughout the year (fall/winter/summer). It gives our players the opportunity to fine-tune and improve their hockey skills on a weekly basis. These clinics are divided into various age groups (U7 and U9, U11 and U13, and U15 and U18) and put an emphasis on skating, puck control/handling, shooting, and small area games. There is also a dedicated goalie session. Participation is limited and spots are awarded based on earliest registration and receipt of payment.
Note: only CGHA registered players can participate in development clinics
